Roy Munson (Woody Harrelson) could be to bowling what Michael Jordan is to basketball. There's just one obstacle: Ernie McCracken (Billy Murray), a conniving rival whose dirty tricks ultimately rob Roy of his ability to ever bowl again. 17 years later, as a washed up, bald, fat, broke loser, Roy's life is lookign pretty tragic... But wait this is a comedy!!
Enter Ishmael (Randy Quaid), an Almish bowler with a golden arm. Knowning this is his ticket back to the fast (bowling) lane, Roy persuades Ishmael to take a trip with him to the million dollar; winner-take-all tournament in Reno. Sure Ishmael, may not be your full set of ten pins, but Roy's convinced he can strike it big in his hilarious comedy that spares nothing!
