1994, 128 minutes, Rated M

Bill Rago (Danny DeVito - "Big Fish", "Death To Smoochy") has hit a brick wall. His wife has divorced him. The advertising agency, where he worked writing clever ad copy to sell motels to the masses, has just fired him. With no other career path open to him. Bill's about to join the Army.

Well not quite joining the army... but taking a short term assignment teaching "basic comprehension" to a group of borderline washouts at the local Army base. Sweating it out against his students' disinterest and butting heads with the drill Sergeant Cass (Gregory Hines - "The Preacher's Wife", "Waiting To Exhale") Bill is on a hiding to nowhere. Until another 'Bill' gets intot he act. When the group gets a reading of Shakespeare's 'Hamlet' from Bill, things begin to change. Kids passed over and adandoned by the educational system gradually connect and before you can say "to be or not to be" Bill proves to them, and to himself, they can achieve more than they ever dreamed.

Directed by Penny Marshall ("Riding In Cars With Boys", "Big", "A League Of Their Own") and featuring Mark Wahlberg ("The Italian Job," "Planet Of The Apes") in his first big feature film role!
