Will and Eleanor Lightbody (Matthew Broderick and Bridget Fonda) have come to stay at the world-famous Battle Creek Sanatorium, a health spa run by the very eccentric Dr. John Harvey Kellogg (Anthony Hopkins) - surgeon, inventor, author and crusader for biological living. This is Eleanor's third visit to the San, but the first for Will, whose stomach is in ruins from alcohol and meat. Through Will's unwilling eyes, we explore this strange place where bizarre stews of never-before-heard-of-weeds are the rage of the day and enemas are considered daily pleasures. Separated from his wife, Will finds himself constantly aroused by his fervid imagination and, as might be expected at an institution where so many things are forbidden, naughtiness and passions take over!
