Sissy Hankshaw (Uma Thurman - "Kill Bill") is a beautiful girl born with one distinctive feature - abnormally large thumbs. Sissy has turned what would surely be a huge handicap to others, into a bonus by becoming the world's greatest hitchhiker. Sissy spends her life travelling the highways until one day she finds herself at the Rubber Rose Ranch, a state-of-the-art health farm. There she meets a renegade band of cowgirls who make her feel right at home. But just as Sissy thinks she's found a place where she can finally put her feet up, all hell breaks loose on the ranch. For Sissy, it seems an even greater adventure awaits her...
From the book by Tom Robbins, directed by Gus Van Sant (Elephant, Finding Forrester, Good Will Hunting) and boasting a brilliant cast including Keanu Reeves (Something's Goota Give), John Hurt (Hellboy), Lorraine Bracco (Riding In The Car With Boys), Crispin Glover (Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle), Angie Dickinson (Pay It Forward) and Roseanne Arnold (TV's Roseanne) Even Cowgirls Get The Blues is a road movie without a car, a western without Indians and an adventure without speed limits. It gets two big thumbs up!
