Although die-hard stud Brian McVeigh (Kevin Anderson) has finally agreed to marry his girlfriend, he is determined to maintain his bachelor lifestyle including his old apartment. So Brian decides to time-share the place with two other people, allowing them two days a week each.
Sam (Matthew Broderick) is a deli manager looking for love and hoping to cosummate it in the apartment, while Ellen (Annabella Sciorra) is using the place to escape the boring-beyod-belief husband and hopefully have an affair. The three roomates never meet but gradually get to know one another through their belongings.
Just as Ellen becomes interested in meeting the kind and sensitive Sam, Brian and Sam exchange nights, leaving the way open for an hilarious case of mistake identity and missed opportunities, in this wildly funny and off-beat comedy from the producer of "Ruthless People" and "The Distinguished Gentleman".
