"Love is a battlefield"

Based On A True Story

Stateside is an adventurous romantic drama about a high-school rich kid serving in the Marine Corps to avoid jail, and a schizophrenic actress, whose career is crash and burning.

Based on a true story, Stateside follows a rebellious rich boy, Mark (Jonathon Tucker from The Virgin Suicides), who reluctantly lands in the Marine Corps and falls for a beautiful but crazy young musician, Dori (Rachel Leigh Cook from She's All That) while on leave. Against the wishes of family and friends and under strict regulations of military life, the two find romance and solace within each other. Back at base, Drill Instructor Skeer (Val Kilmer from Spartan and Heat) is on a mission not only to train, but to make a man out of the troubled teenager. The two outcast lovers, with more than a dose of humour, cling to their romance in spite of the obstacles from authorities and circumstances which stand in their way.
