The constable understands tribal law. He can accomodate a payback spearing. But he never said they could kill someone.
In the remote Aboriginal community of Wala Wala, Tony (Aaron Pederson) an Aboriginal teacher's aide, has started an affair with Kate (Angie Milliken), the schoolteacher's wife. Unknown to her, they make love on a sacred site. When the sacrilege is discovered, two local elders decide there can be only one penalty.
While some call it justice, Constable Ray Lorkin (Bryan Brown) sees a traditional execution as murder. Turn a blind eye to that and you might as well not be here.
