Susan Dey ("L.A. Law") is "beguiling and sexy"(Newsweek), and Oscar nominee* Tom Hulce (Amadeus) gives a "winning performance" (The New York Times) in this "low-key, unaffected [and] very funny movie" (Roger Ebert) about the hopes, loves and friendship of three dreamers. Co-starring Michael Bowen (Magnolia) and featuring Cheech Marin (of Cheech and Chong) and Cassandra Petersen (Elvira, Mistress of the Dark), this wonderfully offbeat and irresistibly charming film is "a delight" (The Hollywood Reporter)!
Dey portrays May, a single mother who dreams of stardom in the L.A. neighborhood of Echo Park. To make ends meet, she takes a job as a stripper and rents out a room to Jonathan (Hulce), a pizza-delivering songwriter who immediately falls for her. But May's interest lies in the bodybuilder-next-door (Bowen). And even as the trio forms a fast friendship that supports them in the face of Hollywood's heartbreaks, Jonathan's jealousy threatens to get the better of him - and to destroy the only true family that any of them have in Echo Park.
