John Barington is an inventor, testing bomb mechanisms for the Air Ministry. His laboratory is in his country house where, unknown to him, various members of his domestic staff are undercover spies. The plan is to kidnap Barington, aided by a German agent. This agent comes in the form of a wounded RAF pilot who is taken to the house. What the kidnappers don't know, however, is that the butler is in fact a detective working for Scotland Yard.
