Directed by cinema icon John Sayles, Silver City is a film that is equal parts scathing political lampoon and sun-drenched neo-noir detective story.
Silver City follows the far from perfect political campaign of Senator Richard Pilager. Pilgar is a nervous, inarticulate and grammatically challenged candidate for state governor, pished into the race by his domineering father, a venerable Senator.
When Pilager stumbles across a corpse, it threatens to ruin his entire campaign. Enter Chuck Raven, Pilager's ferocious campaign manager, who is uncertain whether this is an accident or an especially grisly prank meant to derail the Pilager campaign. Raven is determined to get to the bottom of it, and hired Danny O'Brien, a formerly idealistic journalist turned rumpled private detective, to investigate potential links between the corpse and the Pilager family's enemies.
