Terror stalks the freeways of L.A. A maniac known only as 'The Skull' is attacking innocent motorists with a terriftying car custom-built to destroy.

One man vows to end the madman's reign of fear.

Determined to avenge his brother's death at the hands of teh killer; master mechanic Rick Benton converts his pick-up into a fighting machine - 'The Gladiator'; a supertruck, armed, dangerous and ready for anything.

Operating outside the law, Rick is relentlessly pursued by Detective Lt. Frank Mason and the L.A.P.D. But even they are powerless to stop him. His one man crusade will only end when 'The Skull' has been terminated.

Finally 'The Gladiator' gets his chance. In a deserted automobile junkyard the movie's explosive climax sees the two titans of the road locked in a duel to the death.
