Raymond Samuel and his wife, Lucie are active in the French resistance in Lyon in 1943, using Aubrac as their underground pseudonym. On June 21st, Raymond is arrested and sentenced to death. Lucie's passionate love for her husband drives her to risk everything to snatch him from the claws of the Gestapo. Her audacity and courage help Lucie save her husband in a daring escape. The film is based on the true life story of Lucie Aubrac, "Outwitting The Gestapo," (Ils Partiront Dans I'ivresse), and also stars Daniel Auteuil (Aprers Vous, Tais Toi).
