On June 25, 1950, at 4:00am. Sunday morning the South Korean villages awoke to a world filled with noises and flames. The Communists had crossed the 28th Parallel launching an all out un-declared war. President Truman immediately ordered the American Armed Forces to give the Korean Government air cover and ground support.
The UN follows the American lead. This documentary archives the Communists ruthless push southward, and the determination of the combined American UN forces to stop them. On July 27th, 1953, a treaty was signed calling for a cease fire and creation of the Demilitarized Zone known as the DMZ.
