When they were young, Jean and Lionel had planned a romantic holiday together in Paris. It is not until thirty-eight years later that the dream becomes a reality. On their return they decide to take the next step in their relationship and live together - that is if they can decide who should live with whom.

Even when the decision is finally made, their domestic bliss doesn't last very long. Between the emotional turbulence of those around them and the filming of an American TV mini-series based on their romance it seems upheaval is never very far away.
