Lee Warren returns to London after a business trip aboard with a suspicion that his wife is being unfaithful. At their apartment, he discovers evidence of her affair and the name of her lover. He calls on the man and demands that he write a note telling her their affair is over, dictating it so that it will in fact provide an alibi for a 'suicide'. After killing him, Warren discovers that the man he killed was his wife's former lover and that she now has another.
