2003, 94 minutes, Rated MA

Young Adam is a moody, sensual thriller about Joe, a rootless young drifter, who finds work on a barge, owned by the down-to-earth Les and his enigmatic wife Ella. On route between Glasgow and Edinburgh, they discover the body of a young naked woman floating in the water. Accident? Suicide? Murder?

As the police investigations progress, Joe and Ella embark on an intense physical relationship, heightening the tension in the claustrophobic barge and the ever growing web of deceit that Joe leaves in his wake.

A hauntingly and faithful adaptation of the cult novel by Alexander Trocchi, Young Adam is a powerful tale of illicit sex and suspense.
