College Freshman Wyatt Trips (Paul Rudd, Clueless) is in love with his girlfriend Kim, who attends university a thousand miles away. Suspecting she is having an affair with someone called "the Ricker", he writes Kim a breakup letter with a little help from new pal and part-time stripper, Ivy (Reese Witherspoon, Fear) and sends it Global Express to ensure an overnight delivery. But when Wyatt discovers "the Ricker" is a dog, he sets off on a madcap journey across the country in a desperate attempt to stop the letter from reaching Kim.
