The House Next Door is a thriller reminiscent of Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window. It's the story of a young couple, Lori and Tom Peterson who move into their dream home, next door to the perfect neighbours, Carl and Helen Schmidt. Lori still haunted by her brutal rape in Chicago years earlier, soon begins to suspect that the Schmidt's are not what they appear to be. When Helen mysteriously disappears, Lori is convinced that Carl has murdered her. Lori's compulsive spying to unearth the truth soon draws Carl's unsavoury attention and she must convince her best friend Monica and the local Sheriff that Carl is not the fine citizen that everyone thinks her is but a cold blooded killer. The deadly game of cat and mouse is finally realised when the climax of the film finds Lori trapped in her own dream house by the man who must silence her to keep his dark secret.
