Its Christmas Eve in Seattle and Gordon Trout has hit rock bottom. Broke and alone he wanders through the halls of a shopping mall where he has the misfortune of crossing paths with three teenagers, Crystal, Cam and Jody.
The kids convince Gordon to give them a ride home from the mall but it isn't too long before he realises that he's driving around a group of runaways. Kidnapped, Gordon's in for the ride of his life as they cruise the area in his vintage Cadillac.
On route to reunite Jody with her mother for the holidays, Gordon searches for an escape when a chance encounter brings them all face to face with Eddie the preacher. Instilling in the weary travellers fresh insight and compassion Eddie helps Gordon to realise that his kidnapping should be viewed as a wake up call to enjoy living again.
Together the kids and Gordon begin to bond and understand one another, realising they have more in common than they first thought. 'The Joyriders' is a dramatic and heart-warming tale that will provide insight to audiences young and old.
