Paul Thomas (Cole) is a police officer who has developed a strong aversion to cults after a harrowing experience that nearly killed his whole family. His resistance is cracked wide open when he falls for Eleanor (Davidovich), the beautiful leader of a New Age self-help cult. His romantic involvement becomes twisted into a fanatical devotion that sends him into a tail-spin from which he may never recover.
