Double Deal is a psychological thriller - its plot a mystery of manipulation and double dealing. "Peter Stirling" (Louis Jourdan) is an urbane, successful man of world who collects precious things: one of which is his young wife, "Christina" (Angela Punch McGregor). She comes perilously close to becoming as helpless as one of her husband's numerous inanimate exhibits which he exhibits to the outside world. Like a rare butterful pinned to a board, she is exotic, elegant and pampered.
Christina craves stimulation and excitement instead of being an ornament in a collection. When a daunting, sensuous young man (Warwick Comber) forces his way into her life, she breaks out. Who he is, where he comes from, who he "reports" to about his progress, is a mystery. A web of chilling intrigue entangles them all - husband, wife and lovers - as the film moves swiftlu and violently to its climactic and totally unexpected ending.
