Would you sacrifice your wife and your Children... for immortality?

Amateur photographer Sir Hugo Cunningham (Robert Stephenson) captures the image of The Asphyx - the spirit of death that hovers above the body in moments of mortal peril - and embarks on a search for immortality, thereby enabling him to cheat the grim reaper!

After having achieved everlasting life for himself, Hugo becomes obsessed with immortalising his son and daughter before imminent disaster strikes...

The Asphyx is a haunting fable about a man prepared to sacrifice all that he loves in his quest for immortality - only to discover that he is doomed to face eternity in despair and sorrow.

Boasting an intelligent scrip, a sterling cast and ravishing widescreen camera work courtesy of multiple Oscar winner Freddie Young. The Asphyx is an eerie gothic gem.
