A gay comedy about sexual disorientation.
Hollywood's edgiest and most interesting young actors including Natasha Lyonne (American Pie), Michelle Williams (Dawson's Creek) and Clea DuVall (Girl, Interrupted) star in this bent comedy about trying to go straight. Megan is pretty, popular and a cheerleader. But behind the sunny veneer, the cracks are beginning to show - she eats tofu, listens to Melissa Etheridge, perves on other girls' pom-poms. Megan's God-fearing parents and friends put two and two together and come up with: lipstick lesbianism!.
Drastic action is called for. An 'intervention' is staged. And before you can say k.d. lang, Megan is packed off to a place where they make teens 'normal'. Welcome to 'True Directions', the pastel pink rehabilitation Centre whose motto is 'straight is great'. But what happens when you lock up a bunch of sexually confused teens in same sex dorms? Let's just say, when the sun goes down, so do they. This subversive, witty and surreal satire comes with a message of tolerance and understanding, which even extends to tolerating cheerleaders who love cheerleaders.
