2002, 89 minutes, Rated M
Twice a week Zhou Yu (Gong Li from 2046 and The Emperor And The Assassin), a beautiful artisan, takes a train to a faraway town where she indulges in a torrid affair with Chen (Tony Leung Ka-Fai from Twenty Thirty Forty), her poet-lover. United by their intense passion for each other, their romantic idyll is threatened by two individuals who accompany Zhou on her long train ride; a doctor hopelessly obsessed with her, and a young woman who bares a striking resemblance to Zhou and seems to be following her every move.
A passionate tale of one woman's search for perfect love, Zhou Yu's Train is a sensual evocation of distance and time, reality and imagination, where the only thing that's truly real is what's in one's heart.
