1954, 100 minutes, Rated PG

Squadron Commander Forrester's (Gregory Peck) plane crashes in Burma and he and his passenger, Blore, are forced to trek through the jungle to safety carrying their injured navigator. Forrester is stern and hard after the loss of his wife earlier in the war, but his heart is softened by the kindness of a beautiful Burmese girl, Anna, and her missionary friend, Miss Menab. Blore, despairing and unable to cope, shoots himself, leaving Forrester with the most gruelling test yet - to struggle back to his base with the wounded navigator on his back.
