Howard (Dirk Bogarde), travels to Kenya to work his brother's farm in the hope re-kindling a love affair with Mary (Virginia McKenna). However, his brother is murdered and he is forced to fight the terrifying Mau-Mau tribe as their terrorism and racial hatred threaten the lives of those around him. This 1950s classic film is a portrayal of the Mau Mau uprisings in Kenya between 1950 and 1956.
