At a top secret United Nations tracking station, all appears to be routine, until a group of rogue mercenaries storm the building, killing everyone in their path. Their objective - a seemingly innocuous cube that controls the lethal secret.
The mercenary team steals a jet and flies off with the device in their clutches. While in flight they activate it. The cube remotely prompts a top secret satellite in the atmosphere to fire a massive electro-magnetic pulse wave at the tracking station causing the base to explode.
Meanwhile, the Russian premiere is awoken and briefed on the situation at hand. He orders the plane taken out of the sky and moments later a surface to air missile is launched and meets its mark over the Himalayas. As the wreckage rains down to earth, the cube comes to rest on a precarious summit on the infamous K-2, 23,000 feet above sea level.
With global tensions reaching fever pitch, and the satellite threatening to fire again at any second, the fate of the world rests on the shoulders of a small team of heroes. Heroes who must summon all of their power in a battle to overcome blinding snow storms, rumbling cold, raging avalanches, and ruthless mercenaries bent on their destruction, in order to not simply survive, but to recover the item that can prevent mankind's certain annihilation.
