Impromptu celebrates the story of controversial 19th-Century feminist author George Sand (brilliantly played by Judy Davis) and the unlikely object of her desire - composer Frederic Chopin (Hugh Grant, star of Love Actually and Notting Hill). Sand is busy setting Paris ablaze by wearing men's clothing and taking a long line of lovers... but when she hears the heavenly music of Chopin, she vows to stop at nothing - including transforming herself - to capture his heart.
