1990, 94 minutes, Rated PG

A group of college-age children of the former upper class spend the night hours of Christmas Vacation together. By accident they meet and drag into the group Tom, a West Side 'radical', antagonistic to them and all they stand for. Tom's long-time romantic interest in the glamorous, excessively popular Serena attracts him to the group.

Not part of the group but looming in the background is rich, handsome, dangerous Rick, admired by the girls, despised by the men. In the decadent post-Christmas days, Rick's shadow falls over the group and disintegration and decline soon follows.

A richly-detailed comedy-drama, Metropolitan seeks to portray the surviving remnants of the world which F. Scott Fitzgerald's 'This Side Of Paradise' caught in its heyday.
