Meet A Girl On The Edge.
After being rejected by her selfish boyfriend, newly pregnant Rena Grubb, looks for a way out of her turbulent trailer-park existence and dreams of a better life for herself and her new baby. Convinced her child's only chance at happiness is the love of a stable family, she convinces her mum to drag the whole family to the annual prison picnic to see their father, who was sent 'up the river' for murder seven years ago. Here, against the backdrop of sack races, barbed wire and conjugal trailers, Rena finally comes to terms with her inmate father and her dreams for the future.
Starring Jena Malone, Brad Renfro, Chris Mulkey, Michelle Forbes and Clifton Collins Jr, Confessions Of An American Girl is a quirky, dark comedy in the tradition of films like Where The Heart Is and Riding In Cars With Boys.
