When Bruce Simmonds, a struggling, down-on-his-luck novelist, who moonlights as a real estate agent to make ends meet, moves into a house he is supposed to be selling, he accidentally uncovers the house's dark history - the previous occupants were brutally slaughtered by a killer who was never caught. Convinced it would make the foundations for a best-selling novel, he delves deep into the mystery. Becoming obsessed with this macabre tale, he finds himself fascinated by the darkness and horror of the crime... and the subsequent arrival of a mysterious stranger gives Bruce an insight into the past he could never have imagined!
