2001, 96 minutes, Rated M

Set in 1927 and with the threat of persecution increasing, a young Jewish girl is sent overseas by her worried Russian family. Once she arrives in England, her identity and memory are stripped as she is re-named and given a new life.

Ten years later, Suzie (Christina Ricci from Sleepy Hollow) leaves England for Paris to start a new life. While working in a prestigious opera company, she meets and falls in love with gypsy horse handler, Cesar (Johnny Depp from Chocolat). As the Nazi threat intensifies, Suzie is forced once again to flee the life she has created and leave all that she loves behind.

With an all-star cast that includes Cate Blanchett (from The Gift) and John Turturro (from O Brother, Where Art Thou?). The Man Who Cried is a touching tale of love, loss and one woman's search to find her place in an unstable time.
