Rafi (Uma Thurman) is a 37-year-old divorcee who has been seeing a therapist to work through her fears of intimacy. When she shares that she has met a man - 14 years her junior - Dr Lisa Metzger (Meryl Streep) is happy for her and supports the match. But after Lisa discovers, unbeknownst to Rafi, that this younger man is actually her own son, she faces a shrink's worst nightmare: how can she remain professional and listen to every intimate detail of their affair? Of all the things a patient is meant to share with their therapist, her son is not one of them!
