Welcome to ward 17 at All Saints Western General Hospital, affectionately known as "the garbage ward" because it takes patients the rest of the hospital finds too difficult to place.

Led by Nurse Unit Manager Terri Sullivan, Ward 17 is the saviour of the Emergency Department who know somehow her nursing staff will cope with any case they are sent.

Each day they know they will be tested. It takes a special personality to want to be on the line all the time. You never know what's going to hit you next.
