After transforming his first motion picture into a smash hit, Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, Mel Brooks now brings the story of two would-be theatrical moguls turned con-men back to the big screen in this irreverent musical comedy that stars Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick, Uma Thurman and Will Ferrell.
A down on his luck producer (Lane) and his accountant (Broderick) devise a get-rich-quick scheme. If they raise more money than is needed to open a play, then make sure that play is a guaranteed flop, they will make more money than if the play was hit. When they discover what they perceive to be the worst script ever - "Springtime For Hitler" written by neo-Nazi pigeon fancier (Ferrell) - they are certain they have the disaster they need for their plan to work. The plan is faultless... but then, there's no accounting for taste!
