1996, 102 minutes, Rated M

This is an exceptional black comedy with a decidedly red slant. Judy Davis plays Joan Fraser, a passionate, working class communist who makes the ultimate pilgrimage-to Russia. There she meets, of all people, Joseph Stalin with whom she shares an unforgettable one-night stand. Stalin dies as a result and Joan ends up pregnant. With such revolutionary lineage, it's no wonder Joan's offspring Joe grows up to have some quite radical ideals, ideasl which promise to create as much havoc in Australia as his Dad's did in the USSR!
