Pierre Richard returns as Francis Veber's walking accident, Francois Pignon, alongside Gerard Depardieu's straight-guy, Jean Lucas, in the huge international hit, Les Fugitifs.
On release from prison, reformed bank-robber Lucas visits a bank-only to be taken hostage by bumbling would-be-bank robber Francois. Naturally, the French police believe that Lucas is up to his old tricks and is really the brains behind the robbery, and that Francois is actually an accomplice. After learning of Francois' plight - he needs the money to help his daughter who has been must since her mother's death - Lucas decides to take control, resulting in a comic masterpiece of role reversal and farcical misadventure.
