Eyal is a professional hit man for the Mossad, the Israeli Secret Service. After successfully eliminating a Hamas leader, he is charged with tracking down an aged ex-Nazi officer, Alfred Himmelmann, rumoured to still be alive. Posing as a tourist guide, Eyal befriends Himmelmann's grandson, Axel, visiting Israel to convince his sister, Pia - living in self-imposed exile on a kibbutz - to return to Germany for their father's birthday.
The two men set out on an extended tour of Israel during which tough-guy Eyal warns to Axel's liberal views and bright enthusiasm, but their growing friendship falters when the mission gets too personal.
In order to discover the truth about this notorious family, Eyal follows Axel back to Germany, where he unexpectedly discovers the truth about himself.
