The Doctor, The Tornado and the Kentucky Kid tells the story of three riders, two of whom have worked towards this moment for their entire lives, and the challenges and hardships they face competing at such a prestigious level.
Narrated by Ewan McGregor (Trainspotting, Star Wars), The Doctor, The Tornado and the Kentucky Kid focuses on the biggest motorcycle race in American history, the 2005 Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix at Laguna Seca, California. While the race itself only lasts an hour, the preparation for such an event takes months. The film documents the trials and tribulations of all involved; the teams, the families, the fans and most importantly the riders. This race is particularly close to home for the US riders, many of whom trained at Laguna Seca when they were younger. For them, this is the moment of truth.
The Doctor, The Tornado and the Kentucky Kid is a non-stop, four-stroke-fuelled, white-knuckle ride from start to finish, and as close as you get to the action without actually being there.
