When a second torus is found, scientist Mason Rand must unlock its mysteries to prevent a possible third world war.

Is it God? A machine? Weapon? Questions fly as science and military representatives from around the world converge on a desolate section of the French Alps.

Bursting up from the cold ground, the massive torus is an inverted structure, blade-like. A fractal surface, glittering with crystal panes. Beautiful yet jagged and sharp as razors. Standing at almost a mile high and several thousand feet wide. No visible entry ports or tunnels.

Whatever the torus is, it is the single most sought-after mystery in the world. China threatens to declare war on the United States or Russia if it isn't allowed access to study it. France claims ownership by way of immediate geography. The United States has no legal valid claim to the torus but still holds a card they can play... that card is scientist Mason Rand.

Outside the torus, the world is set to battle. Inside, Rand is fighting for his life against enemies he could have never imagined.
