Based on characters created by prize-winning author Val McDermid.
Tony Hill, who lectures at the university when not working with the police finds his case load coming too close to home when a friend of one of his own students is abducted. Having recently trained his pupil Laura in psychological profiling, his work with the police becomes rather complicated with a know-all pupil with no experience thinking that she can be of real help in finding her missing friend.
This second series of Wire in the Blood sees the now established team of clinical psychologist Dr Tony Hill and DI (Soon to be DCI) Carol Jordan tackling the ever present threat from serial criminals in the Northern City of Bradfield. Dr Tony Hill uses his skills of psychological evaluation to produce a profile of the man or woman the police are looking for, and in so doing, shines a light into cases that would otherwise by impenetrable.
