Meet the Royles, a working-class family from Manchester who sit in their cluttered living room, living a life of cigarettes, cups of tea and endless telly. A comedy about the joys and frustrations of family life that's warm, honest and very, very funny.

Series one covers the run up to Denise Royle's and Dave Best's wedding. During this time we see Jim stewing over the telephone bill, Anthony making countless brews, Jim trying his best to avoid celebrating his birthday and Denise getting cold feet about the wedding. We also have the pleasure of meeting Nana, Barbara's mum and Jim's nemesis!
