Bill's story will bring a lump to your throat and warmth to your heart - and his smile will stay in your mind for a long, long time to come.
Bill (Mickey Rooney), an ageing mentally handicapped man, must face the harsh realities of big city life or be recommitted to the cold institution that had imprisoned him for so long. He can neither read nor write and his childlike gentleness and innocence make him an easy target for hurt and rejection.
But with the help of a new found friend (Dennis Quaid), Bill comes to realise there is a special place in the world out there waiting for him and he takes the first giant step towards becoming what he has so long yearned to be - A 'regular' GOOD MAN.
