Adam Lyon is a little misunderstood. Literally. Ever since his name was mistygped at the school admissions office he's been the only human student at Charles Darwin Middle School, where the golden rule is. "Do not eat the other students." And at CDMS, things are wild: stalking class is required, the school bully has a dorsal Pin and razor-sharp teeth, the cafeteria serves bug soup, and Adam's best friend' is a spider monkey named Jake.

Even with his opposable thumbs. Adam has his hands full making it through school alive. But Jake's always there to help get, Adam out of a jam - even if he's the one that got him there in the first place.
