In mid-1970s and while the rest of America is going through a sexual revolution two bright but rebellious boy, Francis Doyle and Tim Sullivan, fight boredom, hormones and harsh teachers.

Trapped behind the stern walls of their catholic school they struggle to find something meaningful. Their only escape comes from a notebook that Francis keeps which comes to life through his exceptional illustrations of a fictional universe of good and evil. His comic book creates a netherworld of superhero alter egos for the two boys. to their dismay the ultra-strict Sister Assumpta seizes their notebook forcing the boys to embark upon an obsessed trail of revenge that ultimately changes their lives.
