1988, 92 minutes, Rated PG

Based on actual events, an East German man hijacks a Polish airliner and forces it to land at a US base in West Berlin instead of East Berlin. Because the airbase is under US jurisdiction, an American court must be convened in West Germany to try him. Now a judge must make the most difficult decision of his career, do you punish a man for doing whatever it takes to escape oppression, regardless of the fact he broke the law?

The American Government openly condemns Communism, however this sort of behaviour threatens safety of all flights worldwide. Judge Herbert Stern (Martin Sheen) will now have to make his life-or-death ruling in this gripping courtroom drama behind the Iron Curtain.
