The recently widowed Mr.Chu, a tai-chi master, moves from Beijing to New York to live with his son and his family. But his American daughter-in- law Martha is not pleased with the arrangement, particularly when he finds fault with how she manages her home and raises her children.
Family bonds and Mr Chu's developed sense of balance are put to the test in this warm comedy of manners from a master filmmaker.
