Clint Eastwood's third film as director, shot the same year as High Plains Drifter and personally remembered as one of his favourite films, is a classic romantic drama chronicling the tender yet tumultuous relationship between an elderly conservative businessman, Frank (William Holden, Sunset Boulevard) and Breezy (Kay Lenz, American Graffiti), a much younger freewheeling hippie.
While hitchhiking through the affluent LA suburbs, Breezy wanders into Frank's life and an unlikely romance between the couple unfolds, But while she is sable to reconcile their significant age gap, an inner conflict threatens to consume Frank as he learns to fall in love again after a bitter divorce and recent failed relationships. Feeling foolish for seeing a girl more than half his age, Frank tries to end the tryst but struggles to contemplate life without her.
