A beautiful and effervescent woman mysteriously disappears after a whirlwind romance and marriage to mild mannered engineer John Smith (Adam Arkin). Although Smith pleads his innocence, her family's suspicions of him lead them on a dangerous journey to discover the truth which turns into a deadly game of cat-and-mouse when they uncover a dark and chilling past.
