1979, 98 minutes, Rated M

Twenty years ago, miser millionaire Cyrus West (Wilfrid Hyde White) planned the special occasion - a macabre family gathering for the reading of his will. Only one of his relatives would inherit his fortune - the others would inherit an interest in seeing the heir Dead! The will was a licence for Murder.

As shadows threaten, windows rattle and lights flicker around the relatives, the news that an escaped lunatic, bestial in his lust for blood, is also on the loose in the vicinity serves to deepen the chill and terrifying sense of dread as the guests frantically pretend that they each have every chance of greeting the dawn - alive.

Packed full of thrills and delicious chills and boasting a glittering International all-star cast - including Edward Fox (The Day of the Jackal), Honor Blackman (Goldfinger), Olivia Hussey (Romeo and Juliet), Carol Lynley (The Poseidon Adventure), Wendy Hiller (Murder on the Orient Express) Daniel Massey (Escape to Victory) and Wilfrid Hyde-White (My Fair Lady), The Cat And The Canary is one of the most famous and beloved tales of murder most foul.
